Booked this hotel as I had a film fest event nearby. Location is convenient; 2 mins walk from the nearest train station. Path is also sheltered, right up to the zebra crossing.
Hotel room was probably the cleanest or one of the cleanest rooms that I’ve been to. Everything was so pristine/almost perfect, and I was floored that they did even better than some of the five star hotels that I’ve been to. Superb housekeeping team and management. I had to make sure I left the room the same way I found it to show my gratitude.
Bathroom was so cute. Compact. But manageable! I quite like how the sink was on the outside of the bathroom, in the hotel room itself.
Shampoo and body wash was nice. Lemongrassy-type, and reminded me of an eco-friendly hotel.
I love that they have a filtered water tap too.
Love the flooring of the entire room! The room itself was super cosy. And I don’t mind tiny. There was literally a huge space beside my bed near the window, which could probably fit another bedside table and coffee table or couch. So no, it wasn’t small at all. It was cosy and comforting.
Television was huge, and albeit the fact that there were not many channels on there, I appreciated that there was HBO on there.
View was great. I was on the penultimate floor to the top and had a city skyline, which overlooked Lasalle, Sim Lim Sq, Rochor area, a grassy patch where people were picnicking and further in the distance, even Raffles City/Swissotel/Fairmont.
It was really a mix of life (Rochor/Bencoolen life), and city scrappers.
Friendly staff at the front desk. Everyone was ever-so smiling. Masao was the one that checked me in. Super fast, and super quick. I was able to check-in at 2.20ish even though official check-in is at 3pm. Thank you so much! Really appreciate it, as it was a really sunny day that day, and I was desperate to get out of the sun/heat.
The entire room was really good. It felt like a studio apartment, but a warmly-welcomed one. Incandescent lighting, wood-themed flooring.
It was modern (love how you could turn the light of the mirror on and off by just tapping it - so cool!) yet, filled with warmth!
As someone who works in the arts and event industry, I would definitely recommend friends to stay there, or any performing artists too!
It’s a good location, fairly close to performance venues, by train or bus.
Good food areas nearby from Rochor to Bencoolen to Bugis to Little India. (As an ex NAFA student, I know the food choices here are great!)
The hotel’s drop-off area is also fairly decent. Spacious enough for 13-seaters to pull in. Area seems fairly quiet, for bigger vehicles too.
A great experience! I might return for another staycay soon!
Ps; I didn’t have the breakfast as I am not normally a breakfast person, so I can’t review that. But hey, maybe next time. Will probably try out the pool then too!
